Section 1: Welcome to ACI CareerConnect
What Is ACI CareerConnect?
ACI CareerConnect, powered by Prentus, is your all-in-one career development platform. As a student in ACI Learning Tech Academy, you’ll use it to build your resume, optimize your LinkedIn, track your job applications, access IT jobs, and connect with career mentors. It’s where your IT career journey takes shape—step by step.
You won’t need to use ACI CareerConnect right away, but you’ll be introduced to the platform during your IT Career Prep (ITCP) course. That’s when you’ll begin creating your professional materials and learning how to take ownership of your job search.
Why It Matters
Most students in IT Career Prep are new to IT. Some are changing careers. Some have military experience. Others are just starting out.
No matter your background, ACI CareerConnect helps you take action with confidence. It guides you through the process of building a job-ready profile and gives you tools that make job searching easier and more effective.
When You’ll Start Using It
While your account will be activated early in your program, you’ll begin using ACI CareerConnect in IT Career Prep, typically around Weeks 7–8. During this course, you’ll:
- Complete your ACI CareerConnect Profile
- Build your first professional IT resume
- Set up and analyze your LinkedIn profile
- Learn how to use the Job Tracker and Network Tracker
- Explore AI tools to tailor resumes and prepare for interviews
You don’t need to take any action before ITCP begins. Just know that this platform will play a big role in your journey—and we’ll walk you through it together.

- Updating your Profile
- Uploading your resume draft
- Connecting your LinkedIn
- Exploring job and networking tools
You’re not expected to complete anything before then. Just make sure you can log in and get familiar with the platform’s look and feel.
Section 3: Profile Setup
What Is Your ACI CareerConnect Profile?
Your ACI CareerConnect Profile is your professional identity on the platform. It acts like a digital portfolio—highlighting your experience, skills, and goals—and is the first thing Career Mentors and potential employers will see when reviewing your job search readiness.
You’ll complete your profile during IT Career Prep with clear guidance from your instructor. At this stage, your job is to understand why it matters—and what to expect.
Why It’s Important
Your profile helps Career Mentors provide personalized support. Later, it can be shared with employers through ACI’s talent network to boost your visibility.
A complete profile shows that you’re serious, proactive, and ready for next steps. Even if you don’t have IT experience yet, the platform helps you highlight your strengths—like customer service, leadership, military service, or tech interest.
What You’ll Complete in ITCP
During the IT Career Prep course, you’ll fill out the following required sections:
- Personal – Name, email (locked), and contact basics
- School – Your ACI program and cohort info (pre-filled)
- Experience – Current and past jobs, even if not in IT
- Projects – Class or personal projects to show your skills
- Preferences – The types of jobs, roles, and companies you're targeting
You’ll also learn how to:
- View your completed profile
- Submit your profile for feedback from your Career Mentor
- Edit and improve your profile as your skills grow
💡 Tip: You don’t need to have everything figured out now. Just come ready to learn, reflect, and take the first step toward your future in tech.
Section 4: Resume
Your First Resume Starts Here
One of the most important things you’ll accomplish during IT Career Prep is building your first professional IT resume—and you’ll do it right in ACI CareerConnect.
This is more than just uploading a document. You’ll create a resume that highlights your transferable skills, shows off your unique strengths, and aligns with your IT career goals—even if you don’t have technical experience yet.
What You’ll Do During ITCP
You’ll use the Resume tool inside ACI CareerConnect to:
- Build or upload your resume draft
- Use guided prompts and examples to fill in each section
- Submit your resume to your Career Mentor for feedback
- Make edits and set your draft as the default resume
You’ll also explore how AI tools can help improve your resume later in the program. But for now, your focus will be on building one solid, thoughtful draft that reflects where you are right now.
Why Only One Resume?
As a Student, you’re limited to one resume draft on the platform. This ensures you’re fully focused on getting your foundational resume right—with support from your ITCP instructor and Career Mentor.
Later, when your status upgrades to Jobseeker, you’ll unlock the ability to:
- Create multiple resumes
- Tailor them to different jobs
- Analyze resumes using AI tools
- Submit targeted resumes for job applications
✅ Goal for ITCP: Have one resume draft uploaded, reviewed, and improved with feedback from your instructor and Career Mentor.
Section 5: Job Tracker Overview
What is the Job Tracker?
The Job Tracker in ACI CareerConnect is your personal workspace for organizing job applications. It helps you track every opportunity from the moment you find it to the day you get hired.
You’ll begin using the Job Tracker during IT Career Prep, once you’ve completed your resume and learned the basics of a proactive job search.
What It Helps You Do
With the Job Tracker, you can:
- Save job leads you’re interested in
- Track your application progress (e.g., saved, applied, interviewing)
- Add notes and reminders for each job
- Connect contacts from your network to specific jobs
- Stay focused and avoid applying to the same job twice
It’s a simple but powerful tool that keeps your job search organized and strategic—especially once you start applying regularly.
What You’ll Do in ITCP
In IT Career Prep, you’ll:
- Learn how to add jobs to your tracker (manually or using the browser extension)
- Log your first job lead in the tracker
- Practice reviewing job descriptions and tailoring your resume to match
- Understand how the Job Search and Network trackers support both active and passive job search strategies
You don’t need to apply to jobs yet—just start building awareness of how the tool works and how it will support your success later.
🔍 Fun fact: The Job Tracker isn’t just for organizing jobs. It also unlocks access to AI tools that help tailor your resume and prepare for interviews—once you're ready to use them.
Section 6: What’s Next?
You’re Off to a Great Start
By activating your account and understanding the basics of ACI CareerConnect, you’ve already taken the first steps toward your future IT career. There’s no need to rush or feel like you have to figure everything out now—we’ll walk through it together in IT Career Prep.

✅ Complete your ACI CareerConnect Profile
✅ Build your first resume and submit it for feedback
