This article outlines the minimum and recommended requirements for Tech Academy students. This is a breakdown of the minimum criteria needed for enrollment and the recommended standards for accessing learning materials.

Recommended Hardware
To ensure optimal performance and compatibility with our systems, we recommend using a laptop or desktop computer that meets or exceeds the following minimum specifications:
- Screen resolution: 1920 × 1080 pixels (Full HD) or higher
- Processor: Multi-core CPU, 2.0 GHz or faster
- Memory (RAM): 8 GB or more
Required Hardware for Virtual Students
Students participating in a fully virtual modality must have a device that meets the specifications outlined in this article, as well as the following:
- Webcam: Built-in or USB plug-in, HD quality with a minimum resolution of 640 × 480
- Audio output: Built-in speakers, USB-connected headset, or Bluetooth audio device
- Microphone: Built-in, USB-connected, or Bluetooth-enabled
Recommended for Enhanced Productivity
For an improved user experience and more efficient multitasking, we recommend using a dual-monitor setup whenever possible. This allows you to keep course materials, communication tools, and reference documents open side-by-side without switching between windows.
Operating System Requirements
- Windows: Windows 11 or higher (latest recommended)
- Mac: macOS 12 or higher (latest recommended)
Other major operating systems, such as Linux or ChromeOS, may be partially operable, but may not allow full functionality or may not provide the best performance of materials.
It is recommended for students to have access to 64-bit Windows or macOS system running a current, supported version of the operating system, equipped with a 2GHz or higher processor to ensure consistent performance.
Browser Requirements
- Chrome 29 or higher
- Firefox 52 or higher
- JavaScript and Third-party cookies must be enabled
Please be advised that other major browsers, such as Microsoft Edge, Safari, Opera, or Vivaldi may be partially operable, but may not allow full functionality or may not provide the best performance of materials.
Network Requirements
Minimum network requirements for functionality are as follows:
- HTTPS Access (Port 443)
- Modules/Labs: Minimum 2 MB/sec bandwidth
- ITPro content: Minimum 5 MB/sec bandwidth
- Ideal: 8+ MB/sec for optimal performance
Certification Exam System Requirements
Tech Academy students must thoroughly review and comprehend the system and technical requirements outlined by certifying vendors to ensure successful completion of the certification exam. Failing to meet the system requirements will impede a student’s ability to take the exam and obtain certification.
